At the Fencing Academy of NSW you can learn to fence and improve your fencing with our team of professional coaches. Train alongside some of Australia’s top fencers including athletes in the Australian Fencing Team. We welcome girls and boys from 8 up and older students too. We are open each weekday from 4.30pm and you can come as often as you like.  You don’t need your own equipment to start – we’ll kit you out.
So come along to the NSW Fencing Centre at 190 Bourke Road, Alexandria, for a free try-out. Just let us know which day you would like to come by emailing me at:

headcoach@nswfencing.org.au

Once you’ve tried fencing, and like it,

you can sign up for the Academy Program

that best suits you.
Looking forward to seeing you!

About Fencing Academy Programs

The Fencing Academy has a wide range of fencing programs for people of all ages and levels of experience. Fencing is a great way to stay fit throughout the year, rain, hail or shine.

The following schedule is indicative of programs and training times on offer for 11-months of the year. There may be occasions (e.g. national championships) where the centre is not available for regular training.

Fees are based on a 42 week “year” with the cost spread over two semesterly payments to be made at the beginning of January and July.

This is a program designed for new fencers who have no previous fencing experience or for fencers 10 years old and under. There is no limit on weekly training frequency.

training, compete with other fencers in bouts and have

individual lessons from professional coaches
.

Sibling discount is not applicable to this program.

Academy – Advanced

This is a program designed for athletes who want to train with consistency and regularity as many days of the week as they can and they are also aiming for national level competitions.

Their training will include complete physical training, regular bouting and multiple individual lessons as well as the consistent presence of a coach at their competitive events.

This package includes free participation to all NSW development camps and NSW squads.

In principle, all fencers over 10 years old should join this

program unless they are given exemption by the Head Coach.

The exemption will be granted to fencers who are in their HSC

year, or can only join once a week regularly due to other

commitments.

National Squad members (Youth category) must sign up for the

Academy program.

In cases of 3 or more siblings the last one is free.

High Performance Program (HPP)

This program is specifically designed for athletes over 15 years old who intend to pursuit an international career through the Australian Fencing Team.

The athletes will be coached daily through individual lessons, supervised bouts, video analysis and physical training.

The main objective for everyone would be the Asian and World championships, while all national camps and competitions and the international World Cup will be used as a development pathway.

This package includes free participation to all NSW development camps, NSW squads and one NSW State Championship entry for one age group
.
Program’s fees: $2,600 per semester*
Siblings discounts –
In cases of two siblings, the first sibling

has 25% off on the fees.
